Poor craftsmanship

This is probably one of the lowest quality pieces of furniture I have ever seen. I don't know where to begin. First the advertisement states Sonoma Oak 77 inch bookcase. The only component actually made of oak with this bookcase is the front kicker panel on the lowest part of the bookcase. Everything else is made of wood composite, and cheap wood composite at that as it flakes off easily. The directions are very confusing with graphical images that cause you to spend hours trying to figure out which part goes which way with what components, etc. Assembly components such as dowels, screws, and cams were missing. I spent over 20 minutes on the company's phone trying to attempt to order extra parts to no avail. The directions themselves are deceiving stating parts such as wood dowels when in actuality they are easily breakable plastic dowels (do we see a cost cutting emphasis here yet?!). Save your time and money. Don't buy this product.

I bought 2 of these for display in my shop & returned them both. For the money, they were not worth it. Hard to put together & cheap.

Too bad there isn't a ZERO star category because that is what this bookcase needs to be. First of all, to be advertised as an Oak bookcase is ridiculous. It is fiberboard. The price was way too expensive for the quality of the piece. Could have purchased one for cheap and put it together just like this one and had saved a lot of money. If I could have returned it I would have, but it was way too much trouble after it was all taken out of the boxes. I have learned my lesson and will not order from Target again. The quality just isn't there. Save your money and buy one of the less expensive ones at an office supply store. They look exactly like this one. Wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing.

Started putting the bookcase together, all was well. Then discovered the one shelf was busted. As I continued with the second piece. Discovered some of the hardware was missing. I called to report the problem and had to wait a week and a half for the new pieces. Meanwhile this half built piece was sitting in the middle of my living room while I waited. When the pieces did finally come. I had to cut through 10 pieces of cardboard to get to the items. I will never buy another porduct made by this company.
